The correct way to use trekking poles
  1. Adjust the length
Flat Road: Keep your arms naturally bent, with your elbows at a 90-degree angle to your body, and the tip of your pole pointing vertically toward the ground.
Uphill: Shorten by 5-10 cm to make it easier to generate power.
Downhill: Extend by 5-10 cm to increase support.
Note: The two poles must be of equal length to avoid uneven force distribution; the external locking clasp must be securely fastened to prevent disconnection.
  2. Correct grip method
The wrist is inserted from under the strap, with the tiger’s mouth pressing against the strap rather than gripping the handle tightly.
It can be quickly released in case of a fall, helping to prevent wrist injuries.
  3. Walking Techniques
On flat ground/on an incline: Tilt the pole tips backward and swing them in opposite directions (right arm with left leg).
Downhill: Point your poles forward and press the palms against the tops of the handles to stabilize your body.
Impact point: Place the tip of the stick on either side of your feet, and exert force downward and backward.
  4. Safety Precautions
Don't point the tip of your staff backward to avoid injuring your teammates.
Avoid pulling on the shaft of the walking stick, as it can easily cause the joint to come loose.
Use mud skids/snow skids on complex terrain to prevent getting stuck.
